Our organisation
The governing bodies of CIGRE are the Administrative Council,
the Executive Committee, and the Technical Committee, which is
formed by the Study Committee Chairmen.
The Administrative Council is composed by:
- the President
- between 43 and 48 members elected by the General Assembly
- the President of the International Electrotechnical Commission
or its representative
- the past Presidents of CIGRE.
In general, the Council members are Chairmen of National Committees.
The financial management and statutes of the organisation are
decided by the General Assembly that normally meets at the CIGRE
Session. A Central Office in Paris coordinates day-to-day administrative
matters.
CIGRE is represented locally through National Committees in 52
countries, such as the Finnish National Committee
of CIGRE. These National Committees play an important role as
intermediary between local members and the Central Office for
all administrative processes related to the running of the organisation.
For more information on our organisation, see the CIGRE
main site.
